Bluebird Pictures presents Women in TV & Film - a night of networking, screenings and Q&A’s with industry professionals, celebrating the achievement of women.
Not only will we be looking at the achievements, but also at the underrepresented areas in TV and Film and how we can help the industry to evolve and become more inclusive for women and ethnic minorities.
We will be joined by Suzanne Mackie (producer of Netflix’s The Crown, Calendar Girls, and Mad Dogs); Steve Clark-Hall (producer of RocknRolla and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows); Dan Hubbard (casting director, Bourne Ultimatum, King Kong and Tomb Raider); Lucy Bevan (casting director for Beauty and the Beast, Maleficent and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides); Caroline Deeds (filmmaker and producer of Otherfield Film Festival); Kat Buckle (literary agent at Curtis Brown); Meg Davis (literary agent and owner of Ki Agency); Caroline Bridges (director of Photography for You Can Tutu and Doctors, 2nd unit for Red Con 1 and Meet Me By the Water), Sarah Camlett (talent agent and independent talent group), Susie Liggat (producer of Doctor Who, and Cockney’s vs Zombies), Georgina Campbell (BAFTA winning actress, Murdered By My Boyfriend and King Arthur Legend of The Sword) Suzanne Smith (casting director Good Will Hunting, Alien vs Predator and Resident Evil) Jo McLintock ( talent agent at A&J Management) and Suzie Brearley (digital team at William Morris Endeavour).
As well as representatives from Barking and Dagenham council to talk about the creative plans within the borough, including a new film studio: East Brook Studios.
This will be a wonderful event hosted by founder of Bluebird Pictures and Barking local Joelle David, who created Bluebird as a platform for emerging talent, after her own experience in the industry left her frustrated and wanting to create her own opportunities.
Joining her will be her partners from the US, Erman Baradi and Brandon Waites of events company Mix Knowledgy, who has hosted several highly-successful film and TV networking events in Hollywood and around America.
Whether you are a film student, working within the industry or simply interested in how it all works, come ready with your questions, your networking hat on, and let’s help the industry grow.
