BYT is run by award winning Young & Talented School of Stage and Screen (Y&T for short) giving children and young people who love performing the opportunity to develop their talents and self-confidence while making new friends and having a whole lot of fun!
Yes! Sessions are available for all ages, ambitions and abilities. Y&T have a teaching methodology that allows for a range of capabilities to work together. We do this by providing an environment that allows for exploration and play without judgment or restraint.
When are the classes?
On Saturdays, 10:30am – 1:30pm
Term 1: 15th September – 8th December. Half term 27th October 2018
Term 2: 12th January – 6th April. Half term 23rd February 2019
Term 3: 27th April – 6th July. Half term 1st June 2019
Young & Talented aim to keep subscriptions affordable. Subscriptions are payable before the start of each term.
There is also a one-off registration fee. This provides each members with an exclusive t-shirt and a membership card that offers discounts on tickets for selected shows at the Broadway!

Performing for Theatre, Film and Live performance. Sessions are designed to develop skills through theatre games, improvisation, characterisation and script work.
Students gain the skills, concepts and methods used in the profession today and get to showcase their talents on the Broadway stage.
Our team of tutors motivate students to attain their personal goals and give them the courage to express themselves as individuals.
At Young and Talented we empower students to explore the possibilities and opportunities open to them in every aspect of their lives. Our sessions strengthen their imagination, focus and self-esteem. Valuable performance skills and invaluable skills for life.
Feedback from parents shows the outcomes from their child attending Young and Talented to be:-
No. However students do have the opportunity to gain Arts Award accreditation; a national qualification, accredited by the Arts Council England to develop young people as artists and arts leaders. Qualifications are awarded at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels, which are equivalent to GCSE and A Level standard qualifications. The Gold Award is recognised on the UCAS (University and College Admission Service) points system.
All students have the opportunity to take part in live performances and events throughout the school year.
Young & Talented are part of the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme. It is an excellent way for us to acknowledge, reward and celebrate the work that the young people do and raise their aspirations. A winner is selected each term and they receive a framed certificate, badge, £200 development money to spend on their group, and a boxed Achievement Award Medallion which is presented to them at a public awards ceremony.
Young & Talented work in conjunction with BAFTA winning acting agency Alphabet Kidz, one of the UK’s leading agency’s for young performers. Together we create opportunities for professional work on Stage and Screen. Young & Talented gives young people the platform to springboard into professional work. Current students work includes The Dumping Ground, Rockets Island, Casualty, The Royal, Gangsta Granny and Dr. Who.
Young & Talented sessions have a diverse group of young people from all socio-economic backgrounds, religions and ethnicities. We adopt a holistic approach which seeks to simultaneously address the emotional, physical, spiritual, relational and intellectual needs in a young person’s life.
Y&T is run under the artistic direction of BBC actress Suzann McLean. The acting sessions are delivered by professional director Roy Alexander Weise (Royal Court, Lyric Hammersmith, Bush Theatre)
Y&T nurture and develop young people to become well-rounded individuals on Stage, on Screen and Life.
