You could get so much out of volunteering for the Broadway
As a volunteer you could learn new skills while helping your local community, making new friends and getting involved in the performing arts. Volunteering is a great way to gain valuable work experience (especially important for young people) that can be taken on to a future career (and of course included on a CV!).
We always need volunteers to help us with our 'front of house' operation, making sure our audiences are comfortable, safe and know where everything is so they have a enjoyable visit to our theatre. Alternatively, you could try your hand at helping us with audience development, making sure as many people as possible are aware of the shows and events coming up here. Or you might be interested in helping us sell programmes, refreshments and other merchandise (especially so at panto time when lots of children who thrill to the show want a souvenir of their visit!).
There are all sorts of areas where you could get involved - it all depends on what you want to get out of volunteering and the skills, experience or just sheer enthusiasm you can offer the Broadway. Here's what two of our volunteers have said about it:
" All the volunteers whose age range covers teenage to pensioner are a friendly, helpful and adaptable team dedicated to ensuring that everyone who attends an event at the theatre has the best possible experience."
" Getting to be in the theatre and seeing how shows run and the vibe from the people is one of the things I enjoy most. I loved seeing Morecambe when it came to the Broadway due to the excitment of seeing it before it went to the West End."
If you would like to apply to volunteer please email firstname.lastname@example.org, telling us in which areas of activity you would like to be involved.
